I have been a lifelong patron of radioshack and I have seen it go from a neat little hobby store to a useless phone store. There was a time when anyone could go in with a transistor part # and they could either pull it off the shelf or cross reference the number and order it for you. In today's world run by computers and accountants, you go to the store and you are greeted by a kid who don't know his butt from a resistor, ask about any component and the response is "you'll have to go home and look it up on the internet and order it that way". I saw this guy turn away 3 customers that way while I was waiting to hear the same response to my question. What happened to the old hobby store that I remember? I called the 800 number and after doing the required keydance on the touchpad and waiting for a person to pick up (only 5 mins), he tells me that radioshack sells only a limited number of transistors and my common NTE numbers do not cross to radioshack part numbers. No chance of getting anything today without ordering at an inflated price. I know that this company is not the only one going to the accountants, it is the way of american big business. I say, if you want what you ask for with good customer service, buy Chinese! You have to order it anyway and it is just as fast, in most cases the exact same product and cheaper to boot!

CRAP SHACK about sums it up!!!!!!
Cypress (Lincoln/Walker), CA store...attn: Huda, Huda and Jon "EAT SHIT"!
Customer Care is part of your job - not being "con-artists".
Your day will come and that will only put a smile on my face while you kiss my ass.
Remember your store is close to Hawaiian Gardens and Samoans do not take kindly to being crossed.

Wow I feel bad for all your bad experiences at Radio Shack. I kinda agree with employees 1 and 2 I also work at radio shack I mean it may seem like some sales associates are pushy at times but like they said that is how we get paid. Please don't bash the whole company, some associates Ive noticed are truly nice people who want to try and help you I personally will not lie to my customers to make a sale it seems to work better that way for the both of us.Employee 1&2 seems like you feel like you are not paid enough, its all about how you approach people I normally have a take home pay of at least 400.00 a week just be honest with customers, H20 does work if used correctly, mind you it seems a little silly but they are trying to help you help them make money, in turn you make money. Customers give us a break we deal with some pretty rotten people all day,so its hard we try to help as best we can well at least my crew does. We want you to come back ask more questions and what not but you shouldn't judge an entire company by just a few employees remember there are over 6000 stores at least 5 employees a store so... 30,000 employees you are going to deem pushy, unhelpful, liars, etc. I don't think that is fair to people like me and my crew, visit my radio shack to see if you'd like, Palisades Mall, New York.

I can believe all the stuff that's being said here. I don't like how radioshack treats their employees. It sucks to be a sales associate because you get the brunt of all the BS that the company does to the customers. At times you really want to help your customers, but the restrictions of this company is ridiculous. Personally we DO NOT get paid well enough to deal with the tedious nonsense that runs within this company. We're forced to jump in your face. To give you an idea, We're like sharks and as a customer you're a fat delicious fish that we all want a piece of. So it whoever comes to you first and rips you a new one. I promise you, we don't really want to jump at you like that but we ARE focused to. That's how we get paid.

As a RadioShack employee, Id like to begin by saying I apologize for every ones experience... I know first hand how embarrassing of a company RadioShack is. I'm a college student who reluctantly works part time at this so called fortune 500 business. Its true, we are groomed to be as pushy as possible. Especially with cell phones. In fact they have now started these "non-negotiable" appearances where they show up to monitor whether or not we are using a new process called H2O. In this process, it is demanded that we intitiate a cell phone conversation with each and every customer that comes in no matter what it is they are purchasing. If we are caught not doing so we are fired on the spot.

They are also very pushy with service plans they offer. The sales on these service plans are low and they blame us in saying that we are not "pitching the sale" correctly. We are constantly forced to watch videos that are very childish and yuppie sh!! We are also forced to take test that are down right insulting to a human beings intelligence. In these test we are congratulated with our correct answer with a pop up screen that exclaims "Great Job." As if the test was being taken by a second grade student.

Please, to anyone who shops at RadioShack, realise that us so called "sales associates" are a product of poor training and hand forced actions. We are severely under paid, under appreciated, and are constantly being forced to push the envelope with our customer to get as much money out of the sales process as possible. We are by no means experts. The company hires any old person off the streets and throws them out to the wolves for a feeding. Then, when everything fails and sales start to fall, the point their finger and say shame on us for not getting enough of your money.

Trust me, we don't sell you worthless products by choice. Its because we either do so or find another job!!!

Thank You For Your Time!!!
