Okay, okay, that’s not as big of a claim as you’d think – I’ve read about five total books about or based in New Orleans – but I did like the book better than John Kennedy Toole’s Confederacy of Dunces, so it’s got that going for it. It’s also the best travel narrative I’ve read this year, and I’ve got a monstrous soft spot for travel narratives.
