		<description>I liked Catcher in the Rye -- but I read it so long ago that I barely remember the significance.  Sure, it&#039;s a coming of age story.  So was Black Swan Green, and I got more out of that one, if I remember correctly.

Oh well.  One man&#039;s Gatsby is another man&#039;s Grapes of Wrath.  Or, something.</description>

		<description>I&#039;ve never quite understood why The Great Gatsby is considered to be so great.  It&#039;s a good story, for sure, but I didn&#039;t get much out of it.  And I even read it twice, to be fair, once in high school, and once years later.  Neither time was I very impressed.

Another book in this category of ungreat greats is The Catcher in the Rye.  I&#039;m not sure if I&#039;d even call that a *good* book.  I don&#039;t get the fascination with it.</description>
