Two years and still running
February 20, 2007
I almost forgot that today is the two-year anniversary of the first Black Marks on Wood Pulp (or, as it was at that time, cdubblog) post.
The only reason I ever remember this is because it falls so close to the day that Hunter Thompson died. I see his name, I see the word “anniversary,” and I realize I’ve almost missed my own sort of cool anniversary.
So, yeah. Two years! Hoo-ray!
In honor of this event, check out the history of Black Marks on Wood Pulp - and all of its subtle differences - on the Wayback Machine web site. Unfortunately, there are no posts of the crucial “Black Period” that started it all.
Or, check out The First Post (and the rest of the first month, February 2005)

I think I was at that Modest Mouse show, back in Feb 05. Did Mason Jennings open for them?
I am a huge Mason Jennings fan. My friend a huge Modest Mosue fan. My third friend is/was a guy with conections. We got free tickets.
I had a crappy time. I was sick. Fever and everything. I keep sitting around trying to find a cold place because my fever was about to break.
After the show I started to feel fine. Went to the bar across the street and my friend (MM fan) got to meet the band.
Are you going to the Modest Mouse show next month? My friend is, but I haven’t made up my mind yet.
Yup - that was the Mason Jennings show - I loved the guy after that.
We plan on going, but haven’t bought tickets yet. As a big MM fan, I’ve got to go while they’re still coming to Sioux Falls. Otherwise, then they get really big or when they fall off the face of the earth, I’ll have to go to MPLS again.
congrats on two years, Corey. and thanks for letting even us transplants in. i always enjoy visiting.
Good Job
