		<description>I feel roughly the same way as you.  Video Mania&#039;s were universally filthy, seedy joints, but there was something iconic about them.  This wasn&#039;t hurt at all by the owner&#039;s long-running feud with the setting, though I could never figure out what that was all about.

My guess is that they were surviving on porn, and the explosion of free porn on the Net was eating away at that business.  Porn DVD rentals is not a viable business model anymore, and I&#039;m sure that was a huge chunk of their revenue.</description>
