Sierra opened the envelope tonight. And the balance of the household has been attained once again.

Baby number two is a boy.

Now, we’ve just got to figure out a name.

Yup. That’s exactly what you think it is. Surprise!

These are my favorites of the bunch. They’re being posted here because: #1 – they weren’t taken by us, so they don’t belong over at Much More Sure and #2 – BMOWP loves Sierra!

It’s been quiet around these parts for the past week or so. And with good reason. I’ve been hard at work, giving my newest hobby an outlet, creating a special place for all of this photography I’ve been spitting out.

Instead of ruin the quietude of Black Marks on Wood Pulp with image after image of Sierra or some random line of chairs, I’ve gone ahead and done the next best thing – I’ve branched off of Black Marks on Wood Pulp, into another blogging foray.

That blog is Much More Sure, taken from the brilliant quote by John Steinbeck – a quote that sums up everything I feel about photography; its stark realities, its unflinching eye, its clear look at the world and, how ultimately, we’re all bound by its power. A power that, no matter what, shows nothing but truth. (Barring a Photoshop skill or two, that is.)

Word to your (grand)mom, dawg.

Of course, this doesn’t mean we condone television shows like Hip Hop Harry – a show that’s both terrifying and awesome; a show that left Kerrie and me stunned, jaws agape, reconsidering how the television could affect our daughter’s life and wondering which Ecstasy crazed TV-exec gave Hip Hop Harry the green light.

After a few years, we began call ourselves the JHC – the Jim’s House Crew.

Over a decade later, most of us find ourselves either married, with kids, or both.

In honor of today’s planned playdate, I’m turning Sierra Picture Day into Sierra and Friends Picture Day. This picture, taken at Jim’s current house, shows the next generation of JHC members – all born within three and a half months of each other, complete with honorary t-shirts.
